Siegfried-Peter-Prize for Prof. Dr. Pavel Gurikov for pioneering research

At the Annual Meeting of the Subject Division High Pressure Technology at Dechema  on Wednesday, 20 February, 2019, Dr. Pavel Gurikov has been awarded the Professor Siegfried Peter Prize for pioneering research work in high-pressure process engineering. Pavel Gurikov is the leader of the Aerogels Research Group in Prof. Smirnova’s Institute of Thermal Separation Processes at Hamburg University of Technology. He was honoured for his excellent research work in the field of aerogel production.

The Professor Siegfried Peter Prize is awarded in the name of the Professor Siegfried Peter Foundation of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and is endowed with 1,500 €. The award winner shall visibly further developed the practice of high-pressure technology or the underlying theories.

Siegfried Peter was one of the pioneers of German high-pressure process engineering, who was the first to develop a high-pressure process between the 1930s and shortly before his death in 2007, he conducted high-class basic research on the basis of which he derived industrial applications.
